The Nehru Centre organized Nehru Ki Khoj, a one-day event at Gandhi Bhawan, Bhopal, on 29th December 2024. This event was dedicated to exploring and highlighting the values, legacy, and continuing relevance of Jawaharlal Nehru through a series of engaging panel discussions, wall displays, and presentations.
The event began with a musical performance by renowned folk singer Prahlad Tipaniya and his troupe. Accompanied by traditional instruments like tambura, khartal, manjira, dholak, harmonium, timki, and violin, the troupe sang Kabir bhajans in the Malwi folk style.
Following this, Prof. Sandeep Dikshit delivered a thought-provoking talk on the economic shifts during the Nehruvian era, shedding light on the transformative changes Nehru brought to India's economic landscape.
This was followed by a panel discussion amongst the youth participants, which highlighted the different ways in which the ideas & ideals of Nehru remain relevant today, despite the spread of misinformation & fake news.
Towards the end, esteemed speakers Prof. Manoj Jha (MP, Rajya Sabha) and Prof. Purushottam Agrawal (Writer & Historian) engaged in an interactive session, sparking deep conversations with an audience of 150 attendees.
The event also featured a Truth Wall, presented by The Nehru Centre, dedicated to addressing and debunking myths about Nehru.
